Our Community awarded 5th year of CEIS funding

Our Community in Cove & Kilcreggan has been awarded a further £42,000 in extension funding under the Strengthening Communities Programme (SCP) for 2026–27. This brings the total funding awarded by CEIS to £249,500 since the initial grant in 2021 to support the development of the Local Place Plan.

The Local Place Plan was completed in March 2025 and has since been complemented by the ongoing development of a Community Action Plan. The Action Plan aims to take forward some of the ideas identified by the community and move them towards delivery. Together, these are important steps in developing projects to a stage where they have the best possible chance of securing future capital funding.

The Community Action Plan will be published on the Our Community website by September 2026.

The latest SCP funding will support the next stage of this work: moving the Action Plan towards delivery, while also enabling the recruitment of a part-time Development Officer. One of the officer’s key responsibilities will be to work with Our Community groups to understand and support their funding needs.

£14,784 of the funding has been allocated to the Development Officer role, which will be publicly advertised during August 2026. The remaining funds will support further technical studies and community engagement relating to specific projects.
