Cove & Kilcreggan Community Lottery celebrates its 2nd Anniversary

This week is the 2nd Birthday of the Cove & Kilcreggan Community Lottery. Founded by Tom Walker, a resident of Kilcreggan, it is administered by Our Community in Cove and Kilcreggan. The intention is to raise funds within the community to provide funding for local good causes that support children and young people who live in the villages.

So far, the Community Lottery has raised £4971 for local good causes listed below:

  • raised £2000 for the Cove & Kilcreggan Youth Cafe  between June 2024 and March 2025. This was used to help with building work and the Ocean Youth Trust Sailing Voyage in Spring of 2025.

  • supported the 1st Rosneath Peninsula Scouts with £2000. They support around 70 children and young people with outdoor activities

  • supported a local young person with £400 to support to take part in charitable work in Honduras in 2027

  • pledged £2,000 to Cove Burgh Hall for essential work

  • pledged £2,000 towards Craigrownie Gala Day taking place on Saturday 22nd August to celebrate the 10 year Anniversary of Craigrownie PlayPark

  • given out over £2500 in prizes to local ticket holders.

Children and young people are also able to apply to the fund for support for courses, skills and adventure experiences.

In time local groups that support children and young people will be able to apply for funds.

The success of the lottery depends on the number of tickets we sell each week. We currently have 100 weekly tickets. Can we get to 200? A simple direct debit of £1.33 per week paid monthly! To find out how to participate in the Cove & Kilcreggan Community Lottery, click here.

Thanks for taking part and supporting the lottery, and the children and young people of Cove & Kilcreggan!
