Our Community project receives funding for another year

Our Community (OC) project has secured an extension fund of GBP 45,000 from the CEIS fund, who had originally funded the project for the past 3 years. It will run upto March 2026. As before, this funding does not support capital investment, but is to be used to fund the creation of a delivery plan aligned to the LPP and to progress projects identified in that delivery plan.

Along with this comes the revising of the project organisation teams. ‘Our Community’ will be the brand and community facing image of the Rosneath Peninsula West Community Development Trust (RPWCDT), rather than a separate project. All activity moving forward will be delivered in the name of Our Community in Cove & Kilcreggan rather than RPWCDT. This means that the OC website and social media (Facebook) pages & content are under the RPWCDT.

All the existing governance created until now to deliver the Local Place Plan has been dissolved, and the RPWCDT board will be running the project as we move into the delivery phase.

It also means the Community Lottery, which was launched by RPWCDT last year, will now be run under the auspices of Our Community, and information regarding the Lottery will also be available on the Our Community website here, and on the Our Community facebook page. The Community Lottery has been instrumental in raising £2000 for the Cove & Kilcreggan Youth Cafe  between June 2024 and March 2025. This was used to help with building work and the Ocean Youth Trust Sailing Voyage in Spring of 2025.

From Spring 2025 the Community Lottery will support the 1st Peninsula Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. They support about 70 children and young people with outdoor activities.
