Cove & Kilcreggan Angling Club (CKAC) is fishing for new members
DO YOU LOVE PEACE AND QUIET?
A LOCAL CLUB IS FISHING FOR NEW MEMBERS!
Cove and Kilcreggan Angling Club (CKAC) is a well established club in our neighbourhood - but not many residents know this!
CKAC owns beautiful Lindowan Reservoir above Kilcreggan, accessible by a 20 minute walk from Little Aiden. Here members can enjoy total peace and stunning views whilst fishing for brown trout during the sport’s season March 15th – October 5th. The wild life is also pretty special up there with varied wild flora, beautiful lichens, a raised bog and various birds to enjoy – heron, kestrel, geese, visiting hooper swans and even a rare osprey – also looking for brown trout! Wild swimmers are less rare but just as welcome to share the peace!

CKAC is keen to raise its profile, welcome new members to the art of fly fishing and develop the reservoir and associated ground as a wider community asset including some seating, signage, improved access and the like.
Members tend to fish the reservoir on their own or with a friend, there are no formal sessions but the Club does organise trips to other Scottish fisheries during the season.

CKAC would very much welcome anyone interested in learning the ancient art of fly fishing – they would love more members and could offer taster sessions and training to anyone thinking about joining – they have two fully qualified trainers, both former members of the Scottish Ladies Team one of whom is an ex-UK Ladies Champion! Young people and ladies are particularly encouraged to give it a try.
Membership costs are only £75/year; additionally permits can be purchased at the fishing tackle shop in Helensburgh for £15/day.
The Club AGM is held in February (date for 2026 to be confirmed).
If anyone is at all interested in joining or finding out more, please don't hesitate to contact Club Secretary Joy by email: secretaryckac@gmail.com
