Message from Laurence Slavin, Chairman, Rosneath West Peninsula Community Development Trust:
“This morning I had the pleasure of meeting Ivan and Renata as they braved this fine summer heat to work on the Cove & Kilcreggan Community Garden situated in Craigrownie Park.
In just three months Ivan, and the Our Community Green Group have made huge progress securing a license for the 35m x 8m garden and creating raised beds and planting areas for a range of flowers and vegetables including courgettes, radishes, pak choi, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, broccoli , kale and pumpkins.
OC Community Garden is located near Craigrownie Play Park

The vision for the garden is for the produce to be made available to the community through local outlets at no charge, although donations would be welcomed as these will be directly reinvested in maintaining and developing the garden.
In addition to producing food, the garden will provide another pleasant place in the village for people to visit and relax. Situated near the Craigrownie Play Park, Youth Cafe, playing fields, church and Bowling Club, the Community Garden contributes to what is becoming a really vibrant community hub.
The Green Group have great ideas to develop the garden and create a really valued community asset.”

If anyone would like to volunteer to help with the development of the garden please don't hesitate to contact the Green Group on greengroup@coveandkilcreggancommunity.com or pop up to the garden on Thursday afternoons (from 2pm) and Sunday mornings (from 10am). Any assistance would be massively welcomed.
