Burn Water Testing in Cove & Kilcreggan

Clear Water Group: BURN WATER TESTING

This weekend the Clear Water Group tested the water of six burns along the Cove and Kilcreggan shoreline. The test was to assess Nitrates and Phosphates as well as turbidity.

Four of the burns had low concentrations which are indicative of good ecological status whilst two had a moderate phosphate level suggestive poor ecological status.

Data gathered is recorded as part of the Clear Water Group data base and also submitted to Fresh Water Watch which is part of the Earthwatch organisation.

Further testing will be carried out and is open to all including children, please email Clear Water Group to join in!
