Cove & Kilcreggan Community Lottery

Tom Walker, resident of Kilcreggan and founder of Cove & Kilcreggan Community Lottery

Cove & Kilcreggan Community Lottery was set up in 2024 by Tom Walker, a resident of Kilcreggan with the intention of provide funding for local good causes that support children and young people who live in the villages.

The amount available for good causes (and prizes!) is dependent on the number of entries. So please consider kindly purchasing more than one ticket, or asking friends and family to also take part! There is also a chance to win cash prizes!

As a community if we all take part we would have around £500 per week for good causes and there would be a weekly local grand prize of £240.  You don't need to be from the area to take part - anyone based in Great Britain can take part! There is also a chance you may win the weekly jackpot of £25,000.

The draw is weekly and costs £1 per entry. You enter online and pay monthly. You can buy more than one ticket per draw. Anyone over the age of 18 can play!

Hopefully this will become a good way to support local good causes, and provide a weekly prize for someone who joins in and plays our Cove & Kilcreggan Community Lottery.

The more people who join in, the greater the prize, and the greater the funds for the community. If you win, consider spending the money locally or saving it for a rainy day!

So far, the Community Lottery has raised £4971 for local good causes:

  • raised £2000 for the Cove & Kilcreggan Youth Cafe  between June 2024 and March 2025. This was used to help with building work and the Ocean Youth Trust Sailing Voyage in Spring of 2025.

  • supported the 1st Rosneath Peninsula Scouts with £2000. They support around 70 children and young people with outdoor activities

  • supported a local young person with £400 to support to take part in charitable work in Honduras in 2027

  • pledged £2,000 to Cove Burgh Hall for essential work

  • pledged £2,000 towards Craigrownie Gala Day taking place on Saturday 22nd August to celebrate the 10 year Anniversary of Craigrownie PlayPark

  • given out over £2500 in prizes to local ticket holders.

Children and young people are also able to apply to the fund for support for courses, skills and adventure experiences.

In time local groups that support children and young people will be able to apply for funds.
